
About the Student Accounting Society (SAS)
As the largest Accounting organization at San Diego State University, the Student Accounting Society (SAS) proudly represents a diverse and active membership of over 200 students, providing countless opportunities to engage with peers as well as industry firms and professionals.
The Student Accounting Society serves as a vital gateway for Accounting, Finance, and other Business majors at SDSU, offering a wide range of opportunities to connect with other students, faculty, alumni, and industry professionals. Through our numerous programs and events, including professional development events, social events, and leadership opportunities, we aim to foster academic excellence, career development, and meaningful engagement within our community.

Our organization strives to provide each and every one of our members with the skills necessary to succeed in a professional environment. Our Objectives
Our objective is to empower students pursuing degrees in Accounting, Finance, and other Business majors by providing the necessary resources, knowledge, and connections to succeed in their professional careers and social lives. We strive to enhance students’ understanding of the Accounting major and the business field through networking events such as Meet the Firms, professional development opportunities, all while providing social and networking events to further build the character and lives of our members.
Through collaboration with industry professionals, current students, and alumni, we are committed to guiding students throughout their educational journey and to help them take the steps necessary toward a successful and fulfilling career.
We strive to create an inclusive space where our members are given the opportunity to both grow in their professionals careers and in the social relationships.
What we Offer
Throughout the semester, the Student Accounting Society offers many activities and programs to provide its members with multiple opportunities to succeed, prepare them to excel at Meet the Firms and similar events, and to guide them on the path to future professional success.
Found below is a list of what we offer to our members and how we prepare them to succeed in their careers:
- Weekly meetings every Monday from 12pm-2pm at Park Boulevard in the Student Union
- During our weekly meetings, accredited accounting firms present their company and share details about their firm, how to get an internship, how to succeed in the field, and more!
- Every week we welcome a new accounting firm to present at our meetings, including but not limited to:
- Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, EY, Qualcomm, BDO, Moss Adams, Aldrich, CBIZ, Duffy Kruspodin, and many many more!
- Free admission to Meet the Firms with paid SAS membership

- Professional development workshops to help our members obtain the skills necessary to thrive on their path to success and improve their abilities to succeed in a professional environment.
- Professional development opportunities we offer include:
- Mock interview sessions
- Resume building workshops

- Social events to help students unwind and relax from the busy semester!
- In the past, we’ve held many exciting social events, including: bowling at Aztec Lanes, ax throwing, hiking socials, beach bonfires, boba, and more!
- PS: These events are great ways to meet new people and make new friends!
- Leadership positions, including executive officer positions and committee member positions
- Leadership positions are excellent ways to gain professional experience, and any position looks great on your resume!

Membership Requirements
- Open to freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students. Pre-major business students also welcome to join.
- Open to all Accounting, Finance, MIS, and other Business majors
- Payment of membership dues required to become a full member
- Must fill out the SAS Fall 2025 Interest Form

- Fill out the SAS Member Interest Form (coming soon!)
- Attend your first meeting! SAS meets every Monday from 12pm-2pm. Our first meeting is the Monday on the second week of school!
- Pay your membership dues (Can be paid at any time, payment required to be a full member)
