About the Student Accounting Society (SAS)

The Student Accounting Society (SAS) was originally part of the National Association of Accountants (NAA). Over the years, we have grown to become one of the largest and most comprehensive student-led organizations at San Diego State University. The Student Accounting Society is committed to serving the needs of Accounting, Finance, and other Business majors and giving them the opportunities to succeed in their personal, professional, and academic careers. Serving over 200 members from the Fowler College of Business and the Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy, the Student Accounting Society is proud to be the largest Accounting organization at San Diego State University.

Our Mission Statement

Our mission is to support and empower students pursuing degrees in Accounting, Finance, and other Business majors by providing them with the resources, knowledge, and connections needed to succeed in the future and in their professional journeys. We strive to enhance students’ understanding of the Accounting major and the business field through networking events such as Meet the Firms, professional development opportunities, all while providing social and networking events to further build the character and lives of our members.

Through collaboration with industry professionals, current students, and alumni, we are committed to guiding students throughout their educational journey and to help them take the steps necessary toward a successful and fulfilling career.

We strive to create an inclusive space where our members are given the opportunity to both grow in their professionals careers and in the social relationships.
