SAS Officer Responsibilities
President-Elect
Responsible to learn how the Student Accounting Society operates in order
to become President the following semester.
Open meetings each Monday.
Ensure that all of the officers and directors work together as a team.
Serve as the Associated Business Student Council Representative.
Plan the Faculty Appreciation Breakfast and maintain faculty relations.
Complete various tasks assigned by the President.
Plan the professional events (Meet the Firms & the Banquet) alongside the
President of SAS and the President-Elect and President of BAY.
Plan our famous Rosarito trip.
Vice President of Activities
Plan and coordinate all social events including the Meet the Firms and
Golf Classic.
Organize all community service events.
Communicate with professionals to organize recruiting events (especially
firms that do not present in the current semester).
Communicate with VP of Communications to have all events on the website.
Post SAS event fliers on our boards.
Vice President of Communications
Design and publish the SAS directory/website (online).
Update SAS semester calendar on website after all event dates are set.
Have information for all events online and make necessary changes.
Coordinate with Career Services to ensure that all SAS members are on
Career Track (get list of members from Reporting).
Update and keep current email list on the website.
Work with Reporting to get the directory online before semester starts and to keep weekly membership points up to date.
Take pictures for the website at all social/professional events.
Vice President of Finance
Maintain the clubs bank accounts.
Accounts payables and accounts receivables.
In charge of all fundraising activities.
Plan a budget for the semester.
Collect money for various events, t-shirts, etc
Vice President of Membership
Create a brochure to be sent out prior to the semester to all
Undergraduate and Graduate accounting students.
Coordinate with BAY on-campus recruitment (tables and in-class speaking).
Organize and coordinate Club Days.
Organize the New Member Event
Create the Mentor list and maintain the Mentor/Mentee program for 321.
Coordinate off-campus recruitment at community colleges.
Update SAS boards in BAM 344 and halls.
Vice President of Professional Development
Coordinate speakers for weekly meetings.
Keep up with contacts for speaking engagements through phone calls and
letters.
Make arrangements for parking permits for our guest speakers.
Make lunch arrangements for the guest speakers.
Introduce the guest speakers or make arrangements for directors to make
the introductions.
Maintain and update contact list of recruiting professionals.
Communicate with professionals to organize recruiting events (especially
firms that do not present in the current semester).
Vice President of Reporting
Keep track of member attendance at meetings and events.
Update and maintain the list of members.
Coordinate with VP of Communications to have updated points online.
Coordinate and oversee the tutoring service provided by SAS and BAY.
Determine members active status at the end of the semester.
Create Active Status Directory to be distributed at the end of semester
banquet.
In addition to the duties
listed above all offices are required to:
Attend weekly meetings.
Support other officers by attending events.
Attend scheduled officer meetings.
Meet with directors on a regular basis to plan out the semester.
Assist fellow officers with activities and events.
