Membership Requirements:

Subject to the provisions of the Constitution and Bylaws, any person, who upon receipt of their membership application meets the following qualifications, may become a member of the Student Accounting Society:

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting.
  • Must be currently enrolled at San Diego State University.

Active Status Requirements:

In order to gain active member status in the Student Accounting Society, as well as benefit from all that the organization has to offer, we have established a point system. For every activity you attend, you will receive one point. You must earn a total of 17 points by the end of the semester in order to achieve active status recognition. These points can be earned as follows:

  • Attend any combination of nine classroom meetings or social events.
  • Attend two community service events.
  • Attend three fund-raising events.
  • Attend one mandatory professional event.
  • Members must attend officer election meeting.
  • Members must sign up for the SAS mass email list
    (Contact VP of Communication for more info).

Membership Dues:

Membership Dues are $45 per semester or $70 for two semesters.

Please contact the SAS VP of Finance for more information about filling out an application and paying dues.

Career Services:

It is highly recommended that all members register with Career Services. Registering with Career Services benefits members by providing access and information to future internships opportunities, job positions, workshops, and business fairs. It is very important to register with Career Services to gain access to resume submission to those firms that recruit directly through Career Services.

Mass E-Mail:

All members must subscribe to the SAS Mass E-mail in order to achieve active status. The SAS Mass E-mail gives members up-to-date information about upcoming events and possible internship & job opportunities in various firms.
