Hello
SAS Members, I'm 8,500 miles away in Singapore! I'll be here for the Spring 2008 semester. Singapore is an amazing place. The people are friendly, the country is modern yet green and beautiful, the food is exotic and we're 16 hours ahead of Pacific Standard Time! Studying and living in Singapore has already been a life changing experience. From adapting to a new culture to competing in classes with a 1,000 students. However, the most rewarding aspect of studying abroad are the friendships. I've been lucky enough to meet a ton of people from all over the world. Having a chance to discuss sports, movies, politics and the U.S. with people from countries like Sweden, India and China is something that I hope everyone gets a chance to do. I would like to encourage all of you to challenge yourselves by stepping outside your comfort zones. Whether thats studying abroad, running for an officer position or simply trying something new. Challenging yourself, whether you succeed or not, will help you build leadership skills that will help differentiate yourself from the rest when it comes landing that internship or job. If you have any questions regarding, studying abroad, Singapore, SAS, internships or recruiting please feel free to email or look me up on Facebook. I've been a member and Officer of SAS, have had an internship at SAIC and have gone through recruiting and would like to help. Have a great semester, Cory Fleck P.S. Good luck to those in "Boot Camp" , stick with it! | ||
